Merit Pathway ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you visit our website and when you use our Client Portal.

We collect information you voluntarily provide, such as your name, email, phone number, and academic background via our forms, quiz, and consultation booking process.

The portal does not use passwords. Signing in works by sending a single-use link to your email address, so we never hold a password for you.
We use this data to provide our consultancy services, communicate with you regarding your application, and process your payments securely through our third-party provider, Paystack.
Documents submitted through the portal are used to prepare and review your applications to institutions, immigration authorities and embassies, and to advise you on what is required. Our lawful basis is the performance of our contract with you. Where documents contain sensitive information, we rely on your explicit consent, which you give by choosing to upload them.
We do not use your documents for marketing, we do not sell them, and we do not use them to train any automated or artificial intelligence system.
We do not sell your data. We may share information with trusted third parties (such as payment processors or university portals) only as necessary to provide our services.
Access to your portal documents is limited to Merit Pathway advisors working on your case. Our system is built so that each client can see only their own file and never another client's. We will tell you before submitting your documents to any university, immigration authority or embassy.
Portal data is stored by Supabase, our database and file storage provider, in Europe. Sign-in emails are delivered through Resend, our email provider.
Because this location is outside the European Economic Area, transfers of personal data are made under [SPECIFY SAFEGUARD, e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission]. You may request a copy of the relevant safeguards using the contact details above.
We keep the documents in your portal for two years after your case is concluded or you stop working with us, whichever is later. After that they are deleted.
We may keep certain records for longer where we are legally required to, for example to meet tax or accounting obligations. You can ask us to delete your documents sooner at any time, and you can remove individual documents yourself from within the portal.
Documents are held in private storage and are not reachable by any public web address. Access rules are enforced by our database rather than by the website, so a client cannot reach another client's file even if they attempt to. Connections to the portal are encrypted, and sign-in links expire and can be used only once.
No system can be guaranteed completely secure. If a breach occurs that is likely to affect your rights, we will notify you and the relevant supervisory authority as the law requires.

Our services and the Client Portal are intended for people aged 18 and over. Where an applicant is under 18, a parent or guardian must create and use the portal account on their behalf.
